Go to Yelp to get the real reviews regarding this place. If you want your family member to stand a chance at survival, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. They will die due to lack of quality care and a subpar facility. My mother was admitted here on October 10, 2023 after suffering a stroke in September. Initially she received care at Arcadia USC and was on the road to recovery. Because she was doing so well, Arcadia USC transferred my mom to Kindred Baldwin Park for extended care. Once she came here her health declined rapidly and she passed away 7 days later on October 7th, 2023. I failed her! I knew this place was a problem from day one. The place is filthy, smells horrible and the staff is incompetent. I have attached pictures of nasty hair on the floor and a nurse in the ICU busy scrolling social media instead of caring for critical patients. I tried to get my mom moved but once admitted I was told by staff my only choice was to take her in my car back to Arcadia USC. That was impossible since she was on IVs. If you do nothing else please listen to me and go to Yelp to hear from others. This place should be closed down. I miss my mother and am so sorry I failed her.

My sister Gloria had a very good experience. She was very I’ll when she arrived. The nursing staff, PT & OT’s provided extraordinary care and the food was delicious 😋 Thank you to everyone at Kindred Hospital. …

Our aunt Lucia is gone, she didn’t make it, but this is not post of her demise but our appreciation with the nurses specially supervisor Cherrie who accommodated our request for her room transfer even for a short time of her life. We are grateful to all the nurses for their kind hearts and friendliness. Thank you Kindred.

Kinda outdated facility. Medical equipment is poorly maintained and not properly sterilized. Father in law was admitted 4 months ago and passed away recently. Not too happy with the way they handle situations when someone passes away. An example: when we walked into the ICU, they were placing a recently deceased patient in a body bag in the next room right in open in front of anyone to see. I feel they should have at least closed the curtain and do that privately maintaining the deceased person dignity. Within 20 minutes after they removed this poor souls body, they already placed another person in the same room and bed the previous patient passed away in. this clearly shows in today’s medical system, profits are more important than compassion for the patient. When my family walked into my father in law’s room, a staff member followed us in. Instead of expressing condolences to the family for our loss, he hands my wife a plastic bag instructing her to place all his personal belongings in it. Then hands her a clipboard to sign legal documents. An hour after while we were paying our respects another staff member entered the room asking us to leave so they can clean and prepare his body for transport to the mortuary. When we returned they had him already placed in a body bag and a tag that said “ expired “. I personally think they should have used a better word when describing someone who passed away. The term “expired” seems very cold and impersonal. What happened to compassion and respect ensuring the deceased’s dignity?

My mom is blessed to spend her last days here and I want to give a special thank you to Sheila, the infectious disease manager and Ray the patient advocate for their kind words and tremendous emotional support. You have made my moms last days the happiest possible and my children and I will forever remember and appreciate you both.Thank you so much.

My mom was here for 1 week and on day one I was terrified my mom would not make it out of here. She was put in a room with 5 other people. No tv...nothing to do but stare at the wall. Majority of the nurses sit at the nurses stations. I would visit for hours and the nurses station would never have an empty chair 8+ chairs. My mom was never turned in my presence and i would be there all day. If you go over their to ask anything they wont look up and pretend not to see you standing there. Another visitor and i had to rush to tell the staff that a patient was throwing up all over herself and choking on it. They took a long time to even come even though they were all sitting at the station. All the vistors in the room where in shock and disbelief. One of the Rns actually told me he was very busy and not to bother him when I asked to speak with my moms doctor about updates. Another senior Rn karen would roll her eyes whenever we needed anything and walked away while my mom was still choking and needed to be suctioned again. The one positive, The RT Jason he was absolutely amazing. He was nice, caring, motivating to patients, and excellent at his job.. Give him a raise. What I wish places like this would understand is these patients and families are going through the worst experience of their lives. What if this was their mom, dad, husband, wife, or child. How would they feel if they weren't being cared for. My heart goes out to the patients that are still there and their families. The states medical board should take a serious look at this facility. My mom is in a subacute care facility now and they are in and out all day long helping my mom recover.

I was here in August of this year, I noticed a change for the better. With an exception, my medication was missed for three days.. one of the Nurses Anthony let me know that he did not appreciate me reporting to my doctor. Then the next thing I know he called the psychiatrist and reported me as a person with psychiatric needs.the psychiatrist was glaring at me and asking why my doctor had me on anxiety medication. I take 7.5 mg twice a day. I told her to call my doctor and ask him. She then said so you are refusing to answer, I said according to Hippa I did not need to answer that question. She then said that the Nurse Anthony reported to her that I sit there and cry all day. I never cried when I was there. Anthony call her and said that I was asking for more anxiety medication. That is not true.. Anthony was saying yes you did! My doctor visits me every day or every other day and I ask my Dr when I need something. I don’t know why if it was true why he did not call my doctor.. Please ask any one of your employees if they ever seen me cry you will find the truth there. When my doctor arrived he was told that there was a mistake and the person that they meant to report was the person in BED “B”. This was very upsetting, I was being judged by a lier and a person that can not do a proper evaluation. As she told employees that I was bi polar and could not stay focus.. This is the memory I will always have of Kindred. It’s ashamed because they are so many wonderful employees that work very hard to do a good job. People like Ray, William, Maria, Gloria just to name a few. I need to stay an additional two weeks, My trust in Kindred turned into fear.

From what I can recall, I would compare this hospital to a third world hospital, and not a good one at that. My experience here was more likened to being tortured in a prison camp. Case Management is a joke and don't expect to be placed …
